We escape our busy lives and visit new places and meet new people as often as our jobs allow. Every trip we fantasized about what it would be like to travel with a small group of women. We decided it would be fun to share our love for adventure and travel with others and "2 Girls Travel" was born.

Every summer, Pam teams with three other women to produce Women in the Woods at Breitenbush Hot Springs outside Detroit, Oregon. Women in the Woods is a magical, unstructured and supportive event bringing over a hundred women of all ages together in a natural setting. We wanted our first adventure to be patterned after that.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico is one of our favorite destinations. On our regular visits we discovered the allure of the city and its old world charm. While exploring we met Diana DeCosta who books gay tours in the area. She introduced us to an incredible community and helped us daydream about future trips.

We launched Women in the Waves in 2002 and took our maiden voyage to Puerto Vallarta. Seventeen women joined us for a broad range of activities including shopping, snorkeling, paragliding, swimming and sunning. One day we rented jeeps and convoyed to neighboring villages. Another day we hired Diana's boat and crew and we cruised south along the shoreline for snorkeling and sightseeing.

Every year we add new activities that cater to the group. In our second year we added a day at a private ranch where we swam in a pool overlooking the bay, relaxed in hammocks on the deck, got a lesson in tequila making and went horseback riding. In our third year the crew on our boating excursion caught a 25-pound Mahi Mahi which the Captain and crew enjoyed later and we leisurely snorkeled through Los Arcos.
