Q - Shopping?

A - Thanks to the bevy of Mexican and International artists that make PV their home, there are many shopping areas that offer an assortment of items from fine art and jewelry to t-shirts and souvenirs.

Q - Money exchange?

A - The best money exchange is always from the banks, even though you might have to stand in line and better yet, if you have a bank card, you can withdraw funds from your account back home. There are many ATM's located throughout the city and that will give you even more pesos for each dollar. American dollars are widely accepted.

Q - Can I drink the water?

A - The false belief that a Mexican vacation must inevitably lead to an encounter with Montezuma's Revenge is just that: false. For the seventh year in a row, PV's water has been awarded a Certification of Purity for Human Consumption. It is one of the only two cities in Mexico that can boast of such accomplishment. Purified water is also available.

Q - Transportation?

A - The city authorities have set rates within defined zones of the town for taxis. Do not enter a taxi without agreeing on the price with the driver first. Be sure to pick up a free map to tell the driver exactly where you want to go. Local bus transportation is also available which is very inexpensive.

Q - Do I need a passport?

A - Yes, current passport is required and must be valid for six months after travel.

Q - Restaurants?

A - PV boasts a variety of eating establishments ranging from the fresh fruit stands on the street to the most elegant settings for haute cuisine of all nationalities. There are dozens of excellent cafes, bistros, and dinner houses. There are a wide range of bars from wild to serene and non stop night life.

Q - Climate?

A - Tropical, humid with approximately 300 sunny days per year. Temperature ranges from 82 degrees and the rainy season end in early October.

Q - What to do in PV?

A - PV is truly a condensed version of all that is Mexican. It existed before the planned resorts were built. Noted for Parasailing, tennis, golf, sailing, windsurfing, scuba diving and snorkeling, there are no dull nights or mediocre meals. For more PV suggestions, see our Travel Tips.
